Client engagements are governed by the engagement documentation and, where appropriate, a separate privacy notice.
Maria Marcès, based in Zurich, Switzerland, is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy. If you wish to exercise your rights, please use the Contact Marcès form.

Website delivery and security
We use selected hosting, infrastructure and security providers to deliver, maintain and protect the Website and its communications. These providers may process technical data such as IP address, request and log data, browser and device information, and security signals on our behalf. The relevant processing takes place principally in Switzerland. Details of cookies, local storage and optional analytics are set out in the Cookie Policy.
Enquiries and correspondence
We use communications and email-service providers to receive and manage enquiries and related correspondence. We process the information provided to respond to you, assess a potential engagement and manage the correspondence. We do not use enquiry data for unrelated marketing or sell personal data.
Where personal data reach us from a third party, we use them only for the purpose for which they were provided or another compatible purpose, and provide any further information required by applicable law.
Recipients and international transfers
Personal data are disclosed only where necessary to the categories of recipient below: hosting and infrastructure providers, email and communications providers, anti-abuse and security providers and, if you have enabled it, analytics providers. We may also disclose data to professional advisers, insurers, counterparties or competent authorities where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Some providers may process data outside Switzerland or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. For each applicable transfer, we use a recognised adequacy basis or appropriate safeguards required by the applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses and, where required, supplementary measures. You may request information about the safeguards relevant to you using the Contact Marcès form
Retention and security
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the stated purpose, to meet legal obligations, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Where data are no longer required, we delete or anonymise them. Engagement records may be subject to separate contractual and statutory retention requirements.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No transmission or electronic storage method is completely secure.
GDPR legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we process data to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract (Article 6(1)(b)), to meet legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)) and for our legitimate interests in operating a secure, resilient and professional website and communications channel (Article 6(1)(f)). Optional analytics is based on consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You may withdraw that consent at any time with future effect through the control described in the Cookie Policy.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law and its conditions, you may request information or access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, and deletion or cessation of unlawful processing. Under the FADP, a right to data delivery or transfer may apply in the statutory cases.
Where the GDPR applies, you may also request restriction of processing, data portability and object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out on its basis.
To exercise a right, contact us using the details in section I. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity. You may contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. Where the GDPR applies, you may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
Automated decisions
We do not make decisions about you solely by automated means that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects. Automated security checks may block suspected automated contact-form submissions. If this affects a legitimate enquiry, please use the Contact Marcès form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when processing activities or applicable requirements change. The current version and date are published on this page.
